We want to provide you with as much guidance as possible going forward, while also following the advice of the advisories from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to stay on top of their safety measures and travel requirements, both domestically and internationally. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We ask that you do the same, and always follow the guidance of your federal, state, and local public health officials to stay safe and healthy.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">To help with your travel decision and provide additional information regarding trips for the 2020 season, we’ve compiled a list of answers to the most common questions we’re hearing from our owners and renters, plus some helpful resources for you to have at your fingertips. </span></p>
<h1><b>Our approach to cancellations</b></h1>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">On March 11, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak of coronavirus, known as COVID-19, to be a global pandemic. In response, we took immediate action to help protect our community and provide peace of mind by retaining owners’ bookings and helping renters rebook if needed.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Initially we: </span></p>
<ol>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Asked renters to work directly with owners to handle cancellations. </span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Waived owner cancellation caps, fees, penalties and negative effects on the search algorithm, for both normal and INSTAbook cancellations</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Encourage renters to rebook rather for a later date rather than cancel. </span></li>
</ol>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Since then, the situation has been rapidly changing. Moving forward, we have decided to return to our original </span><a href="https://www.outdoorsy.com/help/what-are-the-cancellation-fees-and-policies"><span style="font-weight: 400;">cancellation policies</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. If a renter needs to cancel a trip, they will have to adhere to the original cancellation policy of the RV owner. </span></p>
<h1><b>FAQ for our renters</b></h1>
<h4><b>Can I still take an Outdoorsy vacation?</b></h4>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Absolutely. Recreational vehicles, motorhomes and campervans are great vacations— no crowded airports, no bustling train stations—just you, the open road, and a home to call your own. Plus spending time outdoors can be helpful for social distancing and letting you embark on your adventure with peace of mind whether that means a weekend in nature, a staycation to just get out of the house or a way to work on the road. We encourage you to keep an eye on travel requirements being issued by authorities to ensure you’re complying with those recommendations. It’s our goal to continue to facilitate as many trips as possible this season.</span></p>
<h4><b>Where can I go in my RV?</b></h4>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A unique benefit of road travel is that you choose where you go, including destinations and campsites that are full of fresh air and nature, away from groups of people, and away from any areas of health concern. Our owners have many helpful suggestions of great campgrounds in their area which are less crowded and make for an amazing experience. Check in with them for their recommendations.</span></p>
<h4><b>How are Outdoorsy RVs cleaned?</b></h4>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Our community of highly rated owners is dedicated to providing clean and reliable RVs. Plus, Outdoorsy owners are required to meet our high standards of safety and cleanliness, which includes cleaning their vehicles with disinfectant and antibacterial/antiviral cleaner before and after each rental to help prevent the spread of germs between travelers. We advise that they wipe down all hard surfaces with these cleaners, paying special attention to areas travelers touch often such as seats, steering wheels, tables, counters and door handles. Also, if they provide linens, they wash those between trips.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We are working with our owner community to take <a href="https://www.outdoorsy.com/blog/rv-cleaning-guidelines-covid-19">extra cleaning measures</a> during this time, and we’re educating them around how to do this.</span></p>
<h4><b>What do I do if I need to cancel my RV vacation?</b></h4>
<p>Because of the rapidly-evolving nature of COVID-19, we are currently unable to adapt our policies around the pandemic. Though we made exceptions in March, we must now return to our original cancellation policies put in place for the protection of our valued renters and dedicated owners.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Bookings made will adhere to owners’ regular individual cancellation policies. </span>Before booking a planned vacation or last-minute getaway, please examine the owner&#8217;s cancellation policy thoroughly and research how COVID-19 may be affecting your travel destination.</p>
<h4><b>What do I do if my owner canceled my trip, but I’d still like to travel?</b></h4>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If the owner cancels your trip, but you are still wanting to travel, please contact our customer support team at support@outdoorsy.com or 1-877-723-7232, and we’ll work with you to make a replacement booking.</span></p>

<h4><b>What do I do if I’m diagnosed with COVID-19 and I’ve been in an Outdoorsy vehicle?</b></h4>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you have any health concerns after your trip, please make the owner of the vehicle and our team aware. We’ll work in tandem with that owner to ensure extensive measures are taken before their vehicle is used by any other travelers.</span></p>

<h4><b>Are there extra cleaning measures I can take to further protect my renters?</b></h4>

We ask that you continue to clean your vehicles with disinfectant and antibacterial/antiviral cleaner before and after each rental to help prevent the spread of germs between travelers. <h4><b>What do I do if one of my renters gets sick?</b></h4>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It is our shared responsibility to provide a safe environment for renters. We’ve asked renters to reach out to you and our support team following their trip if they have any health concerns. If that happens, please contact us immediately.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If any of your renters communicate they have been diagnosed with COVID-19, please make us aware immediately, and we will work with you to take precautionary measures.</span></p>
<h4><b>Am I liable if one of my renters later develops COVID-19?</b></h4>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Outdoorsy, as well as our owners, cannot guarantee if a person did or did not contract COVID-19 in any particular place or that any person will or will not contract the disease. To help with owner and renter comfort levels during this time, as part of your vehicle walk-through, share with renters how the vehicle was cleaned. You must be honest about whether you or anyone else who has been in the vehicle (to your knowledge) now has or has previously had COVID-19. Similarly, you may ask the renters whether, to their knowledge, anyone in the renting party has been exposed to COVID-19, or anyone inflicted with COVID-19. You should also provide the renter with cleaning supplies to further clean the vehicle during their trip or ask that they bring their own.</span></p>
<h4><b>Are you still hosting the Outdoorsy Wheelbase Summit in Austin?</b></h4>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We’ve made the difficult decision to postpone our Wheelbase Pro Summit being held in Austin. <p>The Contest begins at 8:00 am Central Standard Time (CST) on March 28, 2026 and will take place weekly throughout the month of April with winners being chosen every Friday. Full Contest period ends at 11:59 pm (CST) on May 1, 2026 (the &#8220;Contest Period&#8221;). At the end of each week’s Contest Period, Outdoorsy will select winners (see &#8220;How to Enter&#8221; and &#8220;Winner selection and notification&#8221; for details on additional requirements regarding entry timing and winner selection process during the Contest Period). Outdoorsy reserves the right to cancel the Contest at any time and for any reason without notice.</p>

<p>The Contest is open to residents of Canada and the U.S. and its territories, and the District of Columbia, who are 21 years of age or older as of the date of entry. Officers, directors, and employees of Outdoorsy or its affiliates, and related companies, and the immediate family members (parents, children, siblings, spouse) or members of the same household (whether related or not) of such officers, directors, and employees are not eligible to participate in the Contest. Entries originating from any other jurisdiction are not eligible. The Contest is subject to all applicable Texas and US laws and regulations and is void where prohibited.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Agreement to Official Rules:</strong></h3>



<p>By entering and participating in the Contest, you, the entrant, fully and unconditionally agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Outdoorsy, which will be final and binding in all matters relating to the Contest. By participating in the Contest, you, the entrant, grant Outdoorsy permission to send you emails, which you may opt out of at any time.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>How to enter:</strong></h3>



<p>Submission of entries (First &amp; Last Name, Instagram Handle, Email Address and tell us what freedom means to you in 250 words or less.) Must be made during the designated week’s Contest Period, participation consists of an entry form located behind the designated &#8220;Link in bio&#8221; digital button on Outdoorsy’s official instagram page. <a href="http://www.instagram.com/outdoorsy">www.instagram.com/outdoorsy</a> you must fill in all of the fields as directed.</p>



<p>Outdoorsy reserves the right to disqualify entries for plagiarism, offensive language, use of AI to write, in whole or in part, the entry, or failure to follow any of the rules. All entries must be original works by the entrant, in English. Entries may not have been previously published or submitted elsewhere.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Winners will be selected by Outdoorsy (in its sole discretion) at the end of each week&#8217;s Contest Period.</p>

<li><strong>Inventory:</strong> Any RV available on the Outdoorsy platform within the value cap.</li>

<p>The prizes are awarded &#8220;as is&#8221; with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied. The right to receive the prize is not transferable, assignable, and no substitutions or cash equivalents are permitted except at Outdoorsy&#8217;s sole discretion or as otherwise provided herein.</p>



<p>Outdoorsy reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a prize (or a portion of the prize) of equal or greater value for any reason. Outdoorsy will not replace the prize if it is lost or stolen. Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation any and all federal, state, and local taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of the winner. By accepting the prize, the winner grants its permission for Outdoorsy to use the winner&#8217;s name, social media pseudonym and city and state for purposes of advertising and trade without further consent or compensation, unless prohibited by law.</p>



<p>Outdoorsy makes no representations or warranties whatsoever as to the ability to use the prize or to book and rent any particular vehicle or stay listed on the Outdoorsy.com platform. A winner making a booking on the Outdoorsy.com platform agrees that additional criteria may be imposed by the listed vehicle&#8217;s or stay&#8217;s owner. If the booking value exceeds the credited amount, then the winner will be solely and completely responsible for covering the booking expenses beyond the prize amount. Such booking must purchase the maximum available insurance coverage offered through the Outdoorsy.com booking platform. Outdoorsy will not be responsible for covering additional trip costs on and/or off platform, including but not limited to, mileage overage fees, gas, campground reservations, airfare or any other costs and expenses. All bookings on the Outdoorsy.com platform must fully comply with the terms and conditions and other policies therein.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Winner selection and notification:</strong></h3>



<p>As described in &#8220;How to Enter,&#8221; winners will be selected at the end of the Contest Period. The winners will be announced in Outdoorsy’s instagram and notified via email addresses provided on the submission. In order to receive the prize, the potential winner must return email communications with Outdoorsy&#8217;s team to set the delivery conditions of the prize. If the potential winner fails to respond to the email within 7 days or is found to be, in Outdoorsy&#8217;s sole discretion, ineligible or in violation of these Official Rules, such potential winner and his/her entry will be disqualified, and an alternate winner will be selected from all remaining eligible entries. Outdoorsy may request paperwork that the potential winner will be required to complete in order to be awarded the prize (including, but not limited to, a publicity release, tax documentation, drivers license information, evidence of insurability, and/or liability release). The failure to do so will render the potential winner ineligible.</p>



<p>If the potential winner is 21-24 years of age, the rental vehicle will be limited to what is available for that age bracket on Outdoorsy.com. A winner will need to go through the Outdoorsy driver verification process (verified in Outdoorsy&#8217;s sole discretion) and, if confirmed,&nbsp; will be responsible for being the sole driver of the vehicle during the rental period and will be legally responsible for compliance with all terms and conditions related to accepting and using the prize, including the provision of paperwork and the releases and indemnifications described in these Official Rules, and following all the terms of service on Outdoorsy.com. The prizes will be available for redemption until December 31, 2026. The receipt of the prize offered in this Contest by the potential winner is conditional upon compliance with these Official Rules and any and all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.</p>

<p>Decisions made by Outdoorsy are final and binding in all matters, including interpretation of these Official Rules and awarding of the prizes. <p>By participating in the Contest, you agree to release from liability and hold harmless Outdoorsy and its parent company, affiliates, and related companies, and each of their respective officers, directors, and employees and agents (collectively, the &#8220;Released Parties&#8221;) from and against any claim or cause of action, including, but not limited to, personal injury, death, or damage to or loss of property, arising out of participation in the Contest or the receipt or use or misuse of any prize, or from any trip booked or taken using the prize. Entrants agree to indemnify the Released Parties and any other companies associated with the Contest, including any vendors or marketing agencies, and any third parties who have provided prizing. The indemnity covers all claims made not only by potential winners, but also by anyone participating in the Contest. The indemnity covers both claims arising out of the Contest itself, and claims arising from any use of the prizes.</p>

If the booking value exceeds the credited amount, then the winner will be solely and completely responsible for covering the booking expenses beyond the prize amount. Such booking must purchase the maximum available insurance coverage offered through the Outdoorsy.com booking platform. Outdoorsy will not be responsible for covering additional trip costs on and/or off platform, including but not limited to, mileage overage fees, gas, campground reservations, airfare or any other costs and expenses. <h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Winner selection and notification:</strong></h3>



<p>As described in &#8220;How to Enter,&#8221; winners will be selected at the end of the Contest Period. The winners will be notified via email addresses provided on the submission. In order to receive the prize, the potential winner must return email communications with Outdoorsy&#8217;s team to set the delivery conditions of the prize. If the potential winner fails to respond to the email within 7 days or is found to be, in Outdoorsy&#8217;s sole discretion, ineligible or in violation of these Official Rules, such potential winner and his/her entry will be disqualified, and an alternate winner will be selected from all remaining eligible entries. Outdoorsy may request paperwork that the potential winner will be required to complete in order to be awarded the prize (including, but not limited to, a publicity release, tax documentation, drivers license information, evidence of insurability, and/or liability release). The failure to do so will render the potential winner ineligible.</p>



<p>If the potential winner is under the age of 25, they will need to be accompanied on their reward trip by a verified driver (verified in Outdoorsy&#8217;s sole discretion) over the age of 25 who will be responsible for being the driver of the vehicle during the rental period and who will be legally responsible for compliance with all terms and conditions related to accepting and using the prize, including the provision of paperwork and the releases and indemnifications described in these Official Rules. <p class="has-normal-font-size">You can unpublish your stay listing right now or block your calendar so that no further bookings can be made through Outdoorsy. Outdoorsy will unpublish your stay listings end of July 2024 automatically.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Does this affect my RV listings in my account as well?</strong></h3>

<p>You&#8217;ve booked an RV and are getting stoked for your camping vacation &#8211; hooray!<br><br>Now, let&#8217;s say you want to change your payment method after you&#8217;ve booked your trip. No problemo. Depending on when your trip departs, different charges, like the security deposit, can occur at different times. <br><br>As a result, you may want to update the payment method associated with your reservation. How do I update my payment method?


<p><strong>UPDATE: As of July 2025, Roamly Weather Coverage will no longer be offered to purchase with Outdoorsy bookings. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.</strong></p>



<p>Roamly has partnered with Sensible to provide a product that allows you to purchase coverage for the duration of your trip and be able to receive a refund in the event of bad weather.</p>



<p>Available in the U.S. only, for all RVs, this additional Roamly Weather Coverage provides protection for your trip in the event of unexpected bad weather. Possible coverage is based on information from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).</p>



<p>For example, if it rains more than the amount quoted (based on the NOAA day-of-forecast), then Sensible will automatically provide a refund to you, based on the current weather at the location of your trip.</p>



<p>When you initially purchase coverage from Roamly Weather, you will see some basic information outlining your coverage and its parameters:</p>



<p><strong><em>What to expect:</em></strong></p>



<p><em>A forecasted &#8220;light rain&#8221; of 1.5 mm, or more, for 3+ hours will trigger the daily coverage. We&#8217;ll alert you if bad weather is on the horizon. Don&#8217;t worry, we&#8217;ll only text you if it&#8217;s important &#8211; aka you have money available.          Light rain is when you walk outside, and the ground looks like it&#8217;s been raining, think small puddles. </em></p>



<p><strong><em>How&#8217;s the coverage triggered?</em></strong></p>



<p><em>3 &#8211; 6 hours of rain = $51.93/day                                                                                                                                               6+ hours of rain = $103.86/day</em></p>



<p>This is just an example of what you&#8217;ll see when you consider purchasing coverage. The expected forecast, details, and amount of possible refunds.&nbsp;</p>



<p>If the weather during your trip is considerably worse than anticipated, based on the previous NOAA forecast, Sensible will notify you via text message and issue reimbursement automatically!</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>How do I purchase Roamly Weather Coverage?</strong></h3>



<p>Weather Coverage is offered when you make your reservation online for any stationary RV bookings where the RV is delivered and set up at a destination, or for campsite bookings, because the service requires an address to calculate the coverage.</p>



<p>You will also be able to purchase Weather Coverage after your booking is confirmed, from the Trips details page in your account.</p>



<p><strong>Note!</strong> Roamly weather coverage can only be quoted and purchased for trips that are less than three months long.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Is Roamly Weather Coverage the same as Trip Protection?</strong></h3>



<p>No, Roamly Weather Coverage is a separate offering from both Trip Protection and Damage Protection.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>How is the covered amount determined?</strong></h3>



<p>The covered amount is based on the total cost of your booking when coverage is purchased.&nbsp;</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>How long do I have to purchase coverage?</strong></h3>



<p>Roamly Weather Coverage is available for purchase up until the day before your trip begins. If your trip starts today, you will not be able to purchase coverage.&nbsp;</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>What happens if I change the dates of my trip?</strong></h3>



<p>Because coverage is based on a specific date range and forecast, if you change the dates of your trip then your Roamly Weather Coverage will be removed and need to be repurchased for your new trip dates.&nbsp;</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Can I cancel my Weather Coverage?</strong></h3>



<p>You have 24 hours after the purchase of Roamly Weather Coverage to cancel it. After 24 hours have passed, then coverage will not be able to be removed without canceling the booking.&nbsp;</p>



<p><strong>Note!</strong> If Roamly Weather Coverage is added within 14 days of your booking&#8217;s start date, then the option to remove the coverage will not be available.&nbsp;</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>What happens to my coverage if my booking is canceled?</strong></h3>



<p>If the booking is canceled prior to departure, then the entire cost of Roamly Weather Coverage will be refunded to you.&nbsp;</p>



<p><strong>Note!</strong> If the booking is canceled on, or after, departure then Roamly Weather Coverage will be nonrefundable.&nbsp;</p>
