I took my family of 7 out west to Huntington Beach ca. We went through the Rockies, desert, Grand Canyon, Flint hills, and of course the pacific coast hwy. We chose Phil’s rig because he listed unlimited miles during the rental. And he had the best price point as far as least expensive. So, you get what you pay for. We were very happy with our decision to use Phil’s rv. The sound system was incredible. The TV with streaming capabilities was great going across the desert for my kids (they weren’t thrilled with the landscape). When we pulled over to sleep, the tv, lights and other amenities were usable because of the solar powered batteries! So awesome. Phil’s was very communicative during our ten day trip. Every time I reached out, his response was quick and informative. Phil made sure the data was available for the streaming the whole trip. He provided directions for the shuttle bus as we were going up major elevations. And he was flexible with my drop off time.
Some of the things that I wanted to share that concerned me were how loud the rig was driving. Meaning, being a converted shuttle bus, the wind and way its built make the inside loud. Being a nicely converted shuttle bus, there is no passenger seat. So driving 4K miles was weirdly lonely even with 6 others in the van with me. Because Phil customized this shuttle bus, the side windows are covered. On a site seeing drive, this was a bit of a bummer. This was an oversight by me when selecting our vehicle. And lastly, we did end up on the side of the road with one of the serpentine belts off of the pulleys. One of the pulleys came off its post. We were 3 miles away from a ford dealership and was back on the road within 3 hours of breaking down. It wasn’t a huge deal for us. Phil made himself available during the whole process and made sure everything was taken care of upon our return. It was a pleasant experience considering the circumstances.
I would do this trip with Phil’s rig tomorrow if I could. 4000 miles covering the whole southwest from Kansas City!!!
Thanks to Phil for being a great host and for making a trip of a lifetime possible.

I normally don’t leave reviews, but based decision to rent on two other reviews, so I felt compelled to offer our experience.

I thought hard about leaving all 5-stars and did so because this is a 5-star bus.
If you only read one thing on this, hear this: This isn't some regular RV. This is a shuttle bus converted into a driving palace of badassery. This guy built this and it's phenomenal.

Vehicle definitely needs some work. Shocks and transmission issues to say the least.
