Final postOur experience right from the beginning was awful. Our reservation included a generator which was not at the trailer pick-up spot, so we had to follow him to his house, right 10 minutes away, to go pick it up- setting us back on our time frame to be to our spot even more. His response was he didn’t know we wanted the generator and it would be $10 per day- which is false because the reservation states it is included 9 hours per day. When we started loading things into the trailer & checked the black tank level, it was 2/3 of the way full. We were going for 4 days with 4 people. His suggestion was to drive & pay to have it emptied & he’d take the generator costs off. I then informed him that our reservation included the generator. He attempted to help us find somewhere to dump it before we left on our trip. Already being behind on time, we opted to just use the outdoors for the bathroom instead. The fridge was turned on when we picked up the trailer- however when we arrived to our campsite it was still not cold. The trailer came with 2 rolls of toilet paper, and a first aid supply kit, as well as the tools to set up the trailer, that’s it. No supplies for cooking or cleaning(pots/pans/lighter). While putting some bags under the sink we noticed the pipes not completely connected & got lucky we noticed it before our trip. The first night the CO2 sensor started going off about 12:15am. This is an extremely loud 4 second beep, every 5 seconds. We tried everything to get it to turn off, after no avail, we called the fire department. They came out to our spot & checked every nook & cranny for the source. They took the two panels off the trailer to test the air & it was testing higher than normal inside the panels & the trailer. Their recommendation was to turn the propane off for the weekend & they used their air supply to blow the sensor off. Their recommendation meant no refrigerator. So we ended up having to go & get a cooler that would last us 3 more days. The following afternoon the sensor started going off again, there was no propane running, no generator, nothing. We ended up calling them again to come test the air & make sure weren’t going to die in our sleep. Their next recommendation was just to unplug it so we could get some sleep that night.
When I messaged Jonathan about the CO2 sensor he said it had been going off earlier when he cleaned it but he just turned the generator off & it was fine. That was not the case for us.
On Sunday he messaged us saying the trailer wasn’t back yet & then I sent him a screenshot of our reservation dates showing we paid to have it dropped off tomorrow. He apologized. When we returned the trailer we noticed the water heater panel that the firefighters had taken off, was missing. I took a picture & sent it to him so he was informed. He apologized for our inconveniences & offered us a free night for the future. We would never rent this trailer again & found our situation to be very unfair. I would rather tent sleep than borrow this trailer again. He was kind over messaging but when we asked for a partial refund instead—he denied. This will probably be a long drawn out dispute but, I don’t want anyone to incur our same issues, we did not get what we paid for.
