The Goods: We rented this trailer very last minute, Thursday afternoon, with a Friday morning pick up. Robin was very accommodating of this and our late evening return. She also was very quick with responding. The trailer was very clean and very roomy for 4 people. The Bads: The price was first advertised for $85 with the generator included and free run time. Once I started inquiring about renting the trailer and confirming that it had the generator, as this was an important factor for us for the weekend, Robin changed the price of the rental to $95! And then changed the generator to additional add on charges a day. This just seems like a really tacky thing to do. We went ahead and paid the additional charge because we wanted to make sure we could run the AC in the Arizona heat in the middle of the summer. What Robin didn’t mention is that it’s a 1600w generator that can pretty much only run the battery charger, not even the microwave. We did not find this out until a day into trip when we were on site and after wasting several hours trying to figure out what we were doing wrong. We felt totally scammed at this point. We just paid more for a generator that can’t do sh*t and was never used. This trailer did come with sheets, but nothing else. It seems like it is normal for these rentals to come with a lightly stocked kitchen, like utensils and light cookware. I feel like this should be part of the rental as part of the customer service portion of this experience. You don’t rent an Airbnb without plates and silverware at the location. This is kind of along the same lines.Next the information in the app says the trailer is about 2,500lbs, when it’s really more like 6,000+lbs dry. I was able to pull it with my F150, but it was a hard pull. Neither good nor bad, but after Robin knew we were going to be tight on towing, it was handed over to us with a full water tank. I think better communication of this would have been recommended in this case. Since Robin knows the info on the outdoorsy site has the wrong weight, it could easily be added into the description to make sure this doesn’t happen to another renter. We also received the trailer with a hot fridge. RV fridges take 4-6hours to cool down, and I was not expecting this. I think communicating on the prep temp of the fridge would have been nice. When we did the pick up walk through I was not taught how to work the fridge and it seemed to be temperamental throughout the trip partially because we just didn’t know how to activate it.There were several safety features that highly concerned me in the rental. I feel as though this being a rental, it is most important to have these addressed. The emergency brake wire is cut and tied back together with a knot. There were no sway bars for a trailer of this size and length, making the trailer fishtail the whole drive. The trailer only came with 2 stop blocks not 4 which is needed when parking on level ground. Lastly, the running lights were not working on our drive home. Not sure if that issue was in my truck's fuses or in the trailer so check when you hook up.
