About Malcolm's RV rentals
Hello! I'm Malcolm and I am a School Counselor who loves the outdoors. I purchased this van with a buddy of mine so that we could split it between each of our families during our time off. He is co owner so you may meet him when renting the van too. His name is Mike and has over 15 years experience working with wood. The build out was mostly done when we purchased it but we plan on making small improvements and modifications during the slow season. Having Mike work on the van with me ensures that the craftsmanship is up to and beyond the standard you see in most build outs. We've just started this journey so we are eager to get some rentals and reviews under our belt! And for the reason please reach out to us if you need a little flexibility on accommodations and possibly pricing and we can also see what we can do for you! I am a Portland native so I'm also happy to give recommendations on place in the Pacific NW that you can take this van to! I look forward to speaking with you! Malcolm

Intro to van life! Malcolm’s little camper van was so fun to drive up and down the Oregon coast over our holiday break. Perfect for a single or couple. Great gas mileage. Malcolm gave the rundown on all the ins and outs of the vehicle and off we went. Very easy and painless experience which made for a fun road-trip. Just take care of it as if it’s yours.

From start to finish, the experience was great! Malcom is a wonderful host and couldn’t recommend the van rental enough. Hope to do it again very soon!

This vehicle was nothing like its listing. The owner advertises, functional heater, internal lighting, and refrigerator. At the time that I went to pick up the vehicle, the owner observed that the interior lights were not working, and offered me a headlamp in lieu of the interior lights. On arrival to camp in Oregon with my girlfriend, we found the camper only had one thin blanket stored over the cab where a sharp screw was protruding from the storage area, causing me to cut myself the first time I pulled the materials from the storage. I noted to the owner that the bedding seemed insufficient for the climate, and he offered me his own personal sleeping bag. I politely declined and went with my friend to marshals and picked up a new quilt to keep us warm during the trip. The owner also demonstrated the use of the refrigerator which he said doesn’t really get very cool and in fact did spoil our food as it did not work well. Not only did it not work well, it was dirty from previous years. The owner clearly had not inspected, or cleaned the vehicle before renting it to us. The owner also advertised a heater and during my pick up he explained that the heater is the heating unit that is attached to the vehicle meaning that the only way the heater works is when the vehicle is running, so there was no heater through the cold nights. The stereo and navigation system was not available for Bluetooth so it required a wire hook up, and the owner said that they had stopped supplying the cables themselves because people kept taking them. The owner also wanted to blame previous users for the fact that the lighting wasn’t working. I found it interesting that they wanted to blame others and yet didn’t appear to have appropriately inspected or cleaned the vehicle themselves prior to checking it out to us for our rental. We ended up filing a dispute and are working to obtain some of our security deposit back based on charges inflated and made up by the owner. Since we had a bad experience, they are conveying that we are in the wrong since they have had other positive reviews. However, I can firmly attest that the vehicle does not perform as advertised, and frankly is not safe to drive since the tires should be replaced ASAP. We are sorry to have had an unfortunate experience with this rental, and we strongly recommend against renting this vehicle since it is not provided as advertised.

Great experience. Went up to Mt Rainier National Park and had a great time.
The van has great gas mileage and drives similar to a car. As others have said, the drivers seat is quite short so be sure to take that into consideration if you are taller, I am only 5’3 and I noticed the lack of space. The bed was fairly comfortable, but tight. Malcolm was very accommodating with timing for pick up and return. We had an issue with the tire pressure light when we got the van that came and went during our 4-day trip but after we inflated the tires more and read the owner’s manual, it seemed to be a sensor issue. Generally, good experience and has all of the necessities for a short trip.

The van was wonderful and did everything we wanted it to. Was pretty comfortable to sleep in for 2 adults. We got lucky with the weather as it wasn’t too hot while we slept, but the MaxFan did a great job to keep us cool and the air circulated.

Malcolm is an excellent host. We had a great adventure at the Oregon coast and slept comfortably at night. The van drives like a car and it was easy to get around everywhere with it. Perfect size for us!

This camper is adorable, just as described. It’s small. But has every detail you need like a fan, lights that work on a small battery pack, apple CarPlay. Thanks yes very easy to drive and park. Malcom is so helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.

The van is as perfect for me. I was able to load everything I needed for family camp .
Malcom was great at corresponding with me in a timely manner. His location was easy to find. He was friendly and courteous.
This was a great experience. The van was easy to drive and got good gas mileage.
I would love to rent this van again next year!

We loved our little van and after five nights it felt like home. It has all the gizmos you could want, outfitted enough for some basic cooking and start to your day. Camp side coffee was a must every morning for us. Conversion to the bed for nighttime was a breeze. I'm 6' 2" and built solid, my girlfriend is 5'8" thin and we fit back there. Was it snug? Yep. But it was totally doable for the two of us. As noted in the description, driving will be uncomfortable past my height as the seat doesn't go back all the way due to the bed fit out. So if you're taller than 6'2" or longer in the legs around that height, know what you're in for. Apple Car Play was great, water pump sink was easy to use, power battery thing makes if feel very posh with lights at night, insulation was AMAZING. We got 3 or 4 compliments from random people about the van when we were set up eating lunch somewhere. Mileage was also great, helps a bunch with gas prices being high at the moment.

We spent 5 nights campsite hopping around the Mt Hood National Forest and loved it! Was a neat little campervan for a couple of first timers. The fit-out has made really good use of the space, but you may struggle to fit if you’re any taller than 6ft.

The rv was great! We drove down to Seaside and up the coast ending at Cape Blanco national park. It was an amazing trip! The rv drove smoothly and was comfortable (although if you’re a tall person you will not be comfortable in this vehicle). Easy to drive , goo gas mileage. We were decently warm at night and the bed was surprisingly comfortable and cushy. The owner was easy to communicate with as well. Definitely highly recommend!
