First time renter. We loved the camping trip! Loved the convenience of the rental. The host, Eric, made himself available and was up front about most things.
Stayed at a campsite that had fishing, disc golf, and the caves we saw were pretty awesome. My boys 5yo and 7yo thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors.
We will definitely be buying our OWN camper and making many more memories!Now the cons...#1 arrived to pick up the camper and noticed it would not lock correctly on my 2 inch ball. I've hauled many trailers before but just to make sure I wasn't over looking anything I called Eric. He explained that it was damaged by the previous renter and even said " I probably should've canceled this rental". The coupler would not lock. I was 4 hours into the labor day weekend with my family so I made it work. We came up with a plan to lock the couple manually and id have to use a drill everytime I needed to drop the camper. Really annoyed but I was determined to not let it get to me.
Problem #2 we drove 40 minutes to the campground and decided to stop at a Walmart for supplies. I had already taken pictures of outside and inside for insurance reasons. Maybe it was hot or maybe I was excited and didn't noticed beforehand but the camper was filthy..floors dirty, counter sticky and the black tank said it was full (Eric would later tell me he mentioned it before. Bad sensor.) So again, not wanting to let that get me down I swept and clorox wiped the counters quickly before the wife noticed lol.
Pulled into the campgrounds drained the black tank which had liquid in it. Wasn't happy but I'm all about making things work. I understand not everything is perfect.
Problem #3 Now up until this point I would've been 100% ok with mentioning none of this in a review and recommending this app to all. Maybe not the host solely because of the known coupler issue. I mean the guy was going to let me and my family rent this camper knowing it was faulty. So the first night comes..my wife is making the beds and kids are playing. She calls me in to find a used condom underneath the bed. The board under the bed was cracked and while cleaning found a bunch of advils pills in the cabinet above the dinnette. This is what made me truly upset. We're expecting a baby next year. If we had a baby crawling around to find pills or a used condom I would've lost my mind. Now my boys are old enough to know better than to touch these things..I hope.So this is where I draw the line. We enjoyed the things that we could control. Did some minor cleaning and disinfecting. Ended up using the campground showers and restrooms instead of the rental. Dropped off the camper and paid what we owed. Didn't ask for any money back or a pity party.I simply told him the issues, he responded with a sorry and that he has a teenage girl do the cleaning. He said he was in sales so he wasn't offended with how forward I was. Doesn't make up for the cleaning or faulty coupler. Its apparent that he doesn't maintain or look over this rental. Don't be fooled by the newer model camper like we were. Without maintenance and care this will lead to an accident. Careless people like this host are out to make a buck.Just my two cents. Be safe out there!

Awesome experience! Camper was so nice and in immaculate condition ready to go! Was perfect size for us and had everything we needed! Eric was very flexible and easy to deal with and made everything very easy! Would definitely recommend anyone looking to rent this Camper!

When picked up, had not been cleaned. Spent hour cleaning it properly. Propane tank was empty.

My family had a wonderful time at Chimney Rock campground in Northern iowa. Eric's fifth wheel is a 2022 model, is practically new and looks it. All systems worked, and Eric was very easy to coordinate with.
