What a great experience with Mario's camper! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to try a Four Wheel Camper before eventually pulling the trigger to buy one. But also, this RAM is such an awesome rig.

I had a GREAT experience with both Mario Donovan and his Hawk 4 Wheel Camper. Mario was a true professional, great in communication, friendly, knowledgeable, all one could ask for in a host. His rig was terrific, a truck that could get me anywhere I want to go and a very comfortable, clean camper, in excellent condition. Mario has the camper extremely well organized, stocked with good quality pots, pans, and everything I needed for a great trip. I'll rent from Mario again.

Best rental experience ever. Truck was clean, and ready to go with everything needed to camp in remote areas away from all the crowds. The owners are wonderful hosts and really made our short vacation magical.

What a unique experience, it was everything we were looking for. Communication with Mario was great both before the trip and during. He really is awesome and his rig really does have everything you will need--dishes, towels, sheets, pillows, spices, maps. He is not kidding when he says just bring your clothes and go to the grocery store. We spent our first night in the National Forest by the Fruita Reservoir outside the Colorado National Monument, then off Divide Road on the Uncompahgre Plateau, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, two nights at the Middle Fork of the Cimarron River near Silver Jack Reservoir, Portland Creek/Amphitheater road outside Ouray then our final night at the Escalante Canyon outside Delta. We loved the Skottle and cooked on it everyday, including cinnamon rolls! We learned as we went along to take advantage of mobile data while it was available since all of our campsites didn't have access. We used freecampsites, ioverlander and ultimate campground apps to locate nightly spots. If this experience is something you are interested in, don't hesitate. Do it!

Had a great time! Mario is super helpful with all aspects of the experience. Because of the local law, he even provided a booster seat for my 6 year old. The rig (Pepe) is very comfortable/capable in pretty much any environment, and is basically complete with the exception of an oven or microwave, so stick to stovetop meals. Just bring clothes and personal items, and enjoy the spectacular views. I would definitely rent from Marion again.

When the man says, just bring your clothes and get your food, you need to listen! The rig has everything you need!First, Mario gave us coordinates for a great first night camp spot. Lone Warrior was our first camp location and it was only about a 2 ½ hour drive from Fruita in South East Utah. It proved to be the perfect start to our trip. Next we gave the truck a little test run across lots of back roads in the Temple Mountain area on our way to Valley of the Gods and the Moki Dugway. We set aside our plans as time went on and the truck proved to handle our off-the-beaten-path yearnings. We grabbed a camp site the next night in the forest area known as Bears Ears near Natural Arches National Park. With Mario’s instruction we quickly learned to recognize where we could disperse camp and took advantage of the opportunity to be off the grid and away from any other campers without much difficulty.

Mario’s camper was fantastic!!! He was very thorough with giving the introduction to the camper and we felt definitely comfortable using it. It can take you places that most vehicles/campers cannot go. The camper came with cooking supplies and he even had folding chairs that you could sit out by the fire with. He literally told us just to bring our clothes and that’s really all we needed. The camper runs on solar power so we were able to charge our phones which was great and important to us. The only thing I will say about a negative is that the shower water was very cold so if you don’t mind using dry shampoo for days you will be fine. They have campgrounds with showers and laundry units so that was a plus. We had an awesome time and we were all in all very happy with our trip. Totally recommend using Mario’s camper!

Glad you had a great trip! Turns out the hot water heater igniter failed somewhere along your trip. I have replaced it and it's ready for hot showers again!

We spent a week in the Flatbed and really loved the fact that this isn't a "sprinter van experience." The four wheel added a whole new level of awesome to our vacation. It took us everywhere we wanted to go (and more in some cases) whereas a low clearance vehicle wouldn't have. Everything is very organized, clean, tidy and user friendly. The camper is very well stocked with indoor and outdoor camp supplies: cooking, cleaning, towels, chairs, and a skottle. There is a great supply of spices to choose from (really, they're fantastic! Berbere goes great with eggs.).
There is an amazing collection of road/trail maps and trail guide books.
Mario gives great recommendations as well. We didn't have much of a plan and he gave us an awesome out of the way spot to stay and some less touristy options/beautiful routes to see. The only thing I could recommend that he doesn't have: If you want to do more leg powered touring (hiking) on your trip, bring some maps for that.
Apart from being able to pick Mario's brain for places to go and things to see, he is very knowledgeable about the vehicle, setup, and overlanding in general. It was great to get a chance to chat with him.

This is a great vehicle and Mario is extraordinarily helpful. The camper is unbelievably well stocked with cookware, cleaning supplies, towels, chairs, an outdoor folding table, a skottle, and way too much to list here. You seriously don't need to bring anything other than your clothes and your food. Mario has a great selection of maps and guide books and gave us great suggestions on where to go – places we never would have thought to go on our own. Everything is spotless and in good working order. It's fantastic to have ice cream when camping in hot weather! The shower was also great to have in a vehicle this compact.
We have been thinking about buying a camper like this and were happy to have the chance to try it out. The four wheel camper itself is a pleasure- it took us everywhere we wanted to go and was very easy to set up and take down. We camped in some beautiful remote sites that we would not have been able to go to in a low clearance vehicle.

Beware! This form of travel is extremely addictive. My wife and I rented this rig to experience overlanding before taking the plunge and purchasing a vehicle for this purpose. We are avid campers and outdoors people in general. We have attended several Overland Expos, and this was the next logical step. We can not say enough about our experience, the rig, or the owner.To start, when Mario (the owner) tells you that all you need to bring are your clothes, he is not kidding. This rig is completely stocked except food and drink. You will get a thorough walk through of the vehicle to make sure you are comfortable with all of it's features. After that, a quick stop at the grocery store, and you are off to adventure. As we are new to this, we asked Mario to get us started in a good direction. He provided detailed maps, and guide books for the area with several days worth of suggestions. He indicated that after that, we would be comfortable using the guides, and maps, and would be excited to venture on our own. We woke each morning to no schedule, but with much anticipation for where the day and our imaginations would lead us. We were never disappointed.The rig itself is impressive and capable. We have limited off road experience, and were asked to keep the vehicle on trails rated no higher than a 3 in the guide books. There were no shortage of trails in the 1-3 range with amazing scenery and remoteness, and the truck handled all of these with confidence and aplomb. Never did we feel the rig to be to much for us to handle on and off the pavement. We were able to experience dispersed camping in remote areas with stunning scenery every night. Never did we have to worry about full campgrounds and noisy neighbors.The camper is amazing. Setup is complete in 5-10 minutes including having the awning out and sitting in a camp chair enjoying your favorite beverage. When tent camping, it takes us at least an hour to do the same thing. The bed is queen size and comfortable. I am 6'3" and had no problem standing in the camper, or sleeping in the bed. For cooking, you have a two burner stove inside, and a Skottle for outside cooking. The refrigerator holds plenty of food, and I couldn't believe I was making ice in the desert. An indoor, and outdoor shower allow for cleanliness with fresh air in the right circumstances. There is also an amazing toilet! You have to experience it to believe it, but let's just say that you don't have to flip a coin to see who will have the job of dumping and cleaning.

Congratulations! You found it! Now you should book it. :)The Truck:
Mario is a professional adventure vehicle builder, and his experience, attention to detail, and high quality craft in the build of this truck is obvious. The truck is comfortable, extremely capable, and surprisingly efficient for being heavy and with knobbly 37” tires. The whole setup is easy to drive, but is also great for getting boondocking and getting terrain around Arches, Canyonlands, etc. If your sense of adventure is high and keeps you out exploring until late in the day, you can still be sure that when pulling off onto any dirt road, this truck will handily be able to drive it and take you somewhere private with spectacular views. Many times we drove past the occupied, more accessible camping spots these dirt roads and because the truck is so well built, were able to get deeper to beautiful, private locations.

This may get lengthy... I wasn't sure how I'd feel about a pop up camper, but after two weeks driving this setup I can give it a very honest and wholehearted thumbs up! Dealing with the owner and outdoorsy was easy and quick. The Dodge and the camper are very thoughtfully prepared and stocked. For example the cab of the truck had everything from work gloves to binoculars and the camper itself has a well stocked spice rack and a cocktail shaker!
