Matt was great to work with, and although I wanted this to be a 5 star review, a couple of things prevent that. I will first acknowledge that I think there will inevitably be some deferred maintenance and cleanliness issues when you have a later in the season rental that follows a fairly quick turnaround.Matt's communication was good, and his flexibility on pickup and dropoff was great. Absolutely no complaints there.The reasons I am not going five stars primarily relate to what Matt acknowledged as deferred maintenance issues when we went through checkout, two of which were significant. First, the slider step to get into the sprinter side door was inoperative, which resulted in us having to buy a step stool a couple of days into the trip. Going into and out of the van wtihout the slider step or a step stool was just too big of a step to be done comfortably or safely. Second, the screen at the rear had torn and Matt was either in the process of replacing it or was planning on replacing it. This was not a problem in areas that had no bugs and cooled signficantly at night, but we had two buggy nights and one extremely hot buggy night where we weren't able to leave the rear doors open for ventilation. These were two significant maintenance issues. A third issue, which we were able to resolve but which wouldn't have happened if Matt checked before sending out the van was a heater issue that we were able to solve once we got back in cell phone range (but shouldn't have happened if the transfer fluid had been checked before we left in the sprinter). These things knocked the score down. Mechanically, the sprinter ran great and the other features all worked well, but these were important enough things to make a difference.On cleanliness, we had a quick turnaround, and the exterior was pretty clean, but the interior floor and bathroom/shower floor could have used a better cleaning (it felt lick more of a lick and a promise than a true swabbing, although Bend gets pretty dusty). Leftover toothpaste in the bathroom sink from a previous renter meant it wasn't as clean as we would have liked.All in all, it was a great trip, and probably would have been a perfect trip if we hadn't had these other issues (and been primarily in areas without mobile phone or internet service). I would recommend this vehicle and renting from Matt again.
