Outdoorsy needs to come up with a process for ensuring their owners are following their policies. As a longtime member of programs like Turo, VRBO, and Airbnb, I would not recommend renting from this owner.Overall, it was an okay trip, but certainly not thanks to the owners. Communication was a struggle. One-word responses after days of no response. Coordination between the two owners also caused confusion. Needed repairs could have avoided a number of issues.Everything below I sent to Kraig and got no response of any kind - either on Outdoorsy or via text.Outdoorsy claims to take COVID-19 seriously, but they clearly cannot enforce that policy with their owners as was evident by this rental. The first sign was that Kraig and his young daughter showed up to the handoff not wearing masks. When I arrived home with the RV and started to pack for our trip, I opened the kitchen drawers to discover a hot mess. There were open catchup packets, honey (or something sticky) still runny all over the inside of the drawers, with piles of pepper from a broken container mixed into it all. I discovered similar messes in both the passenger seat compartment and one or two of the overhead storage areas. There were also handprints all over the inside of the windshield, tiny footprints all over the dash, and grease on the counter. Kraig has so many cords and wires stuffed into a cupboard for the TV that the cupboard is unusable. (We were never even able to get the TV to work.) I spent the better part of two hours cleaning up the RV the night before we were supposed to depart. Given that it was not cleaned as a courtesy for travel, it also tells me that it had obviously not been cleaned per the COVID-19 protocols. The radio works intermittently with only half of the speakers functional. However, more importantly, because the radio was not working, the backup camera and side-view mirror cameras also did not work. This made it an enormous challenge trying to reverse and change lanes in the vehicle safely. The emergency brake light would only turn off after the break was actually released about 10% of the time. I managed to get it to turn off after repeatedly pressing and releasing the emergency brake. If not, it seemed like certain systems would not operate and the vehicle would ring a constant warning for three minutes every time we slowed down or came to stop. The overhead bunk needs repair. Lowering and raising the bunk was a challenge. It would frequently get off track and one side would raise while the other side would not. It usually took about 20 minutes of finagling to get it to raise up properly. A real challenge when traveling solo with two kids. The cotter pin holding the bunk in place on the driver side simply came out of the wire connection. It still works as intended, but the cotter pin is no longer attached. There was no unusual force placed on it, it just simply came apart. A testament to the cheap quality of the vehicle. The refrigerator did not work right from the start. I discovered this as we were attempting to put groceries in the refrigerator. I texted Kraig and he said he would call. Never got a call. A few hours later, he texted me that he might have a solution. I had figured out the problem and resolved the issue on my own.The drawer under the dinette would not stay closed. Kraig knew this but does not mention it in his ad. The bottom to this drawer had also fallen out and was just resting in place when he showed the vehicle initially. I'm sure he was already aware of this, but again, failed to mention that storage space would be diminished in his ad.After a short amount of driving while using the AC, it begins to leak condensation directly onto the driver's foot. Not ideal for summer trips. It's like water torture after driving several hours. The holding tanks do not read accurately. After emptying both gray and black holding tanks three times during my trip, they only read empty once. After emptying the tanks the last time before returning the vehicle, only the gray tank would read empty.
