Went up to the Eastern Sierra's for some off grid camping with a bunch of families. We are more the exploring type, not the camping type. I wanted to tent camp but the weather was forecasted to be cold and my wife asked for a trailer to block the elements and sleep behind a locked door. Be it I hadn't towed in 15 years and was driving a 4 cylinder turbo engine van, I wanted something light, with off road capabilities and a hard exterior(later found out it was nice to have extra storage space even with the Scout folder down). The Scout A fit the mold. As you can imagine, I had a ton of questions and Hiro was very responsive and informative. Before driving off with his guidance I felt extremely confident and knowledgable of all working parts of the trailer. It's really light and at times I would forget it was behind me. We rented the portable heater and Hiro threw in the solar panel. Didn't end of using the heater(despite it getting into the 30's at night) or the sink, but yes to the solar panel to charge our phones and headlamps. And funny on the last night it rained unexpectedly, so we were thankful for the shelter. Once you pop open the trailer once or twice, it's really takes less than 2 minutes to set up and tear down. The sleeping area is doable but tight for 3 people but we planned for that. If you're smart you bring a mat and can sleep one person on the floor and two in the beds. Overall we loved our who experience and I am pretty sure we will use this again.

Owner was super helpful with setup instructions, questions, and preparations for tow and drop off. Clean and new camper with tons of storage. Towed like a new trailer should. Comfortable sleeping and everything worked as described. Battery lasted both nights. Ample storage. Would gladly rent again from a very helpful renter. Easiest setup. Well deserved 5 stars.

Hirotaka was an excellent vendor! Very quick with responses to our questions. My only negative was that this trailer is suited for 2 adults, does not accommodate 2 adults and 1 child comfortably. If we ever needed a trailer again for 2 of us, we would rent from them again!

This lightweight Meerkat was easy to tow and provided a comfy small cabin. My wife and I are 5'9' and had good leg room at the end of the bed. Hirotaka was an excellent renter. He was friendly, accommodating, helpful, and patient in explaining the features of the camper and answering our questions.

Hirotaka was a great host and very communicative. He helped us get the
camper set up when we arrived and showed us all the moving parts. I
recommend the MeerKat for your trip as it is a compact and light trailer
with plenty of space and a low tow load. I pulled it with my Prius!

Hirotaka did a great job explaining how to use the camper. It was very easy to set-up and tow with our RAV4. We enjoyed our camping experience with the meerkat and definitely recommend it for people who want to try it out as the next step up from tenting.

This was an experiment for us...towing a trailer on our Rav4 (V6). It was a success. Hiro was very easy to work with and communicated promptly and thoroughly. We loved the decor on the inside...best I had seen so far. Not sure if he had added them aftermarket. The four stars (Mechanical) were based on problems with the hitch (we resolved it), non-functioning 110 AC (we were dry camping, so...not a problem for us). Be aware, this does not include a porta-potti and the refrigerator is simply an ice box (we didn't use it).
For our purposes, however, the whole system worked nicely. The MeerKat did not seem crowded (and I can't handle confined spaces). There was more storage than I had expected (kept large items in the Rav). We slept better than we ever do tent camping. And it was nice to sleep with the vents open...fresh mountain air. I'm on a wait list for a new MeerKat, but why wait!? Rent from Hirotaka.

The meerkat was awesome and the Prius was super gas efficient.
This was my first experience but it was amazing and we will absolutely be renting from them again in the future!

This was our first experience towing and Hiro was very helpful in answering all our questions. Since it was our first time we were also happy to tow something as light as the Meerkat and we didn't have a problem. It was perfect for our needs, providing a ready-made place to sleep and easily converting to a dining if we needed one. Highly recommended.

The Meerkat was perfect for a weekend getaway in Mammoth! It was very comfortable for my boyfriend and I and let us very warm. Hirotaka was extremely helpful and easy to get a hold of so thay was a plus! The best part was the Meerkat was very easy to tow and we had no problems. We will for sure be renting again for more camping trips in the future!

Hiro was the best man to rent from. He was friendly and precise on his expectations. He welcomed many questions, and gave great patience. He gave me a step by step explanation on how to use everything from, connections, tools needed, and different ways to adapt the inside layout.
The trailer itself was great! It was very comfortable for my wife and I. The size was perfection. Everything from top to bottom was clean and spacious. Overall, it made our trip enjoyable, relaxing, and most importantly comfortable.
We will be renting with Hiro again next summer.
