The Jeep was very old and poorly maintained, the shocks were loose, the car moved excessively, and the 4x4 system failed during normal driving. The replacement vehicle also had electrical problems, broken locks, and dashboard lights that didn’t work at night.

Overall, the car was in good shape. A few things to note-- there should be an early pickup/late drop-off fee if your rental times fall outside of the owner's preferred window (not described in the listing-- i really only went with this vehicle over another was because it seemed like the times were more flexible, without additional fees). Outdoorsy didn't charge me for it, so the owner manually charged for only one (communicated via messaging beforehand). Another thing to be aware of is that most camping sites do not allow this style of camping. That's something I was misinformed on from by other rental companies, but I thought all would work out since this rental came with a ground tent + supplies. The tent was relatively okay (a bit dirty with some stains), but the sleeping pad did not stay inflated... I think it may be missing a plug, so we ended up having to just sleep on the ground.

Justins camper was awesome. He accommodated us at the last minute after a different cancellation. It was a great vehicle and he was easy to communicate with. 100% recommend

Justin was very responsive when we had to book a different camper when our original host canceled our booking during our flight to the island. He answered texts and met us within a couple hours of booking.
His van is perfectly sufficient for cruising and camping around Oahu and it has the right patina to blend in and have an authentic experience.
