We discovered Casual Caravans by a blind web search. We called and spoke with Sheldon and explained that we are a couple in our 70’s and were considering a month-long trip to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland but that we were first timers when it came to Van Life. We had many questions, and Sheldon had the answers to all of them and helped us through all the steps. He even had suggestions for travel ideas and destinations, many based on his own travel and life in Eastern Canada. His professionalism coupled with his naturally compassionate nature encouraged us to sign up with Casual Caravans immediately.
Our trip was remarkable. The van was comfortable, reliable and perfect for two older folks who were looking for an alternative to tent-camping (which we’ve enjoyed for nearly 50 years). Casual Caravans offers the best customer service. Sheldon was always available by message or phone for any problems or misunderstandings that popped up. When we encountered a minor electrical issue with the van, Sheldon drove the 5-hour roundtrip to meet us and fix the problem personally. That dedication to customer satisfaction gives first-timers, like us, an added level of confidence and security.
We thoroughly enjoyed our camper van experience and will do a camper van trip again and we will rent from Casual Caravans for any adventures in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, New Brunswick and Labrador. We recommend them highly.

We had a fantastic experience with Casual Caravans! The caravan was incredibly comfortable, well designed, and the whole trip was smooth from start to finish. The caravan made traveling so much more enjoyable, a perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. Highly recommend Casual Caravans for anyone looking for a fun and easy way to explore! 10 stars!

Our van was a delight to live in for three weeks. It was clean and spacious, had plenty of storage, a great mattress, plenty of heat, and ventilation when needed; overall, it had everything we could have wanted or needed.Additionally, the craftsmanship was notable. A lot of thought, effort, and expertise went into the construction of the interior of this Ford van. It was not only extremely comfortable, but also professional in its appearance and function. Sheldon was a fun and responsive host, helpful and eager to share ideas of places to go and things to do. We enjoyed meeting him and transacting business with him. 100% recommend Casual Caravans!

Visiting Nova Scotia and booking a van from Casual Caravans was the best decision my partner and I could have made to make our travels a once in a lifetime experience.
We wanted to explore various scenic locations for the fall time and felt like the best option would be to rent a travel van where we could be on the move whenever we wanted. It was our first time visiting this side of Canada so we wanted to ensure we had the best options available and we are so glad we went with this company.
The van was fully specked out with everything we needed from a comfortable bed, a work station to get work done throughout the day, plus a kitchen outfitted with a sink, a portable stove for cooking, and lots of kitchen utensils. You can tell they put a lot of thought and care into it all.
There was a few nights where the temperature got a little cold outdoors but with their built in heating system we were able to stay warm and comfortable at all times.
Sheldon was an amazing host always available when we had questions or needed suggestions as to where to visit around the province.

Renting a get away van through Casual Caravans was an amazing process. Sheldon is the most helpful, thoughtful and charming person to deal with and was willing to give us all the help we needed to organise our three week trip to Nova Scotia. Sheldon and Charlie have put a lot of thought and preparation into kitting out the vans for camping and travelling.
Our trip was a lot of fun and the Mercedes van purred along very well, has a lot of power and accommodated our needs well. Nonie Jackson BC.

What a great trip. Rented the van for three days to go to the Celtic Colours Festival—such a great way to see the province. I loved the van experience, and I especially loved the fact that I got to sleep in the same bed every night and be mobile in the day. The bed was very comfortable, and the heating system is great. The scenery was amazing. It was also cool that Sheldon connected us to other Casual renters who were also going to the Festival and staying at the same campground. We made some new friends. Sheldon and Charlie, you have an amazing business. What a great experience you offer with all that you provide with your vans.

What a great adventure. Sheldon was an excellent host. The Sprinter Van performed flawlessly and was very comfortable for camping. We spent 4 nights around the South Shore and Valley of NS mid October. A great way to extend a typically summer season. Highly recommend!

The camper made Sommo Festival such an amazing experience. Booking on their website make it so easy and got a promo code. After a full day of music, it was incredible to come back to a real bed and a cozy space instead of a tent. Having a fridge and kitchen setup made meals so much easier. It honestly felt like we had a little hotel on wheels. Thanks so much casual caravans

Sheldon is a great host! He was real easy to communicate with, and the van had everything I needed for a great 7 day stay. A comfortable bed, a kitchen with indoor/outdoor cooking, compost toilet, 2 swiffel seats and a table for inside the van, an outdoor hot/cold shower and outside seating as well. The Ford Transit has a high roof, so you can stand upright inside the van).
Highly recommended campervan rental. I would definitely book again and then for a longer stay. Had a great time touring around Nova Scotia. Go whalewatching on Brier Island and visit Meat Cove (cabot trail). No cell Service there, so get a map of the trail. (Don't worry, you can't het lost there..). Also visit Truro and Bear river!

All I can say is WOW! This was an experience of a lifetime, all thanks to this van! It was the perfect mix of simple and affordable, but it had more than i needed. This van became my home while i crossed 2 provinces. It drove perfect, and left me with peace of mind when I was in very remote locations, but it also got me through cities and busy tourist attractions. It was the perfect van for every situation. The bed was comfortable, and the kitchen had everything I needed. Plus the portable toilet and the portable shower, made even the most remote locations feel as comfortable as the bed. Sheldon and Casual Caravans were SO easy to work with, they had solutions and options for any issues I ran into.

We rented one of the Ford Transits for two weeks to tour and cycle around the Maritimes. The van was great! There was a locking mechanism for our road bikes in the van. It had everything we needed and everything worked perfectly. It had hot water, outdoor shower, heater and more. Sheldon was super responsive and accommodating from booking right through to the end of the trip. We would definitely book through them again and would recommend for anyone wanted to travel with the flexibility of an adventure van!
