Acerca de los alquileres de autocaravanas de William
We’re a family of 6, including 2 girls in college, 1 girl in high school, and a 13 year old boy (Liam) with medical, physical, and behavioral disabilities. Dravet Syndrome has not only stolen Liam’s health, but it has also stolen “normality” from our family’s lifestyle. We took a leap during the winter of 2022, and purchased this beautiful RV, to allow us a chance to travel as a family, all while keeping Liam’s safety and health our number one priority. Family travel with our medically complex son is liberating and helps put the consuming challenges of our day-to-day life into perspective. It also allows our family to reconnect outside of doctors, therapies and difficult decisions. It makes us feel whole. It is a pleasure to be able to share this space with other families, in hopes that it brings as much joy to you as it does to us. Please remember as you travel, that this is our family’s home away from home, and has been a long awaited and hoped for chance to travel. Please respect and love our travel-home as much as we do. Please remember that although it may just be someone else’s property to you, it’s a dream come true for us, and a space that we would very much like to keep clean and well maintained for many years of future enjoyment. We thank you in advance for being careful, clean, and respectful. Happy Travels!

FIRST .. The initial pick-up address was wrong in the Outdoorsy app. William was responsive immediately with directions to the actual pickup and was waiting outside for me. small inconvenience, no biggie. THEN, I noticed the RV had no supplies. Maybe this is industry standard, but I realized there was no hand soap, towels/linens, cups/plates/dishsoap. Quick trip to Walmart, crisis diverted - but I wish that heads up was on his ad. After driving and set up at our location, which went great, things went downhill from there.
SECOND, Right after set up, I wanted to wash my hands, I turned on the hot water. THE worst sulfur/rotten egg smell quickly filled the entire RV. I messaged the host right away, he was very responsive. William sent me instructions on how to flush the water tank. My hookup spot had electricity only - no water hookup. I had planned to rely on the tanks for the weekend. Driving away from our coveted and packed RV spot to figure out how to flush and refill the tank was not a possibility. Ultimately this meant no warm showers after the race, getting in our car and driving thru the crazy traffic to pay to take showers at the YMCA.
THIRD, I extended the awning, no problem. I sat outside - while the smell dissipated from the RV. I then retracted the awning. I stood on the stoop of the door with the door open - where the switch was located. I observed the awning retracting. Behind my left should I then heard a clanking/clicking sound. The forward awning arm got caught up on the top of the door. I immediately turned off the motor to the awning. I had to lift the awning arm off the top of the door. In those few seconds - the extension arm casing had bent - making full retraction impossible. Again, I messaged William immediately. He was immediately responsive. I sent pictures, he walked me thru removing a screw and I ultimately zip tied the awning in place. He mentioned right away, this has happened at least twice before.
IN THE END:
1. Wrong pickup address: Outdoorsy is aware. Not the host fault.
2. No hot water. William said, after the fact, he needed to clean the tank with vinegar. This is on him and not acceptable. Regular maintaince and pre-rental checklist would have prevented this. He ultimately gave $150 off my price and refunded me the early pick up fee. The $150 dollars equals 7.5% of my total cost (not including the no charge early pickup). Not good enough. No hot water, having to pay for showers and the inconvenience of having to leave our RV lot - at least 20-25% would seem fair. I did ask for more, he said no.
3. As far as the awning - as soon as I returned the RV and we examined the damage - William conceded, "This is a design flaw" — I agree. Three times in the 4 year life of the RV? He should have a note taped to the inside of the door about this possibility or at least tell me. At drop-off he said he would work with my insurance and deductibles; I will be out a $1500 deductible for the damage. Again, on me …. but you see my frustration?
4. No basic supplies? On me. But I think - updating his ad would be helpful.
