At Nomad Be Happy, we believe that the journey is just as important as the destination. Our adventure ready campervan rental business is more than a service; it's a lifestyle. Nomad Be Happy started humbly in Chattanooga, TN in 2020 with just two vans and has since created a collective of locally owned and operated campervan rentals across the US. Renting this camper van was the best option for our road trip. The van offered us the luxury to travel with our dogs—providing plenty of space to not feel cramped or over crowded—and the opportunity to make the LONG drive more enjoyable. The van allowed us to pull off at any rest stop when we needed to recharge our batteries—that alone was a serious game changer for long-haul trips.
Destination wise—the van, with its lifted frame and durable tires, allowed us to choose more remote camping sites—which in turn gave us more privacy and peace.
The set up of the van was perfect for our needs. Plenty of space to add dog kennels for the drive, a queen size bed that was both roomy and comfortable, a sink and shower for quick cleaning, and getting the dogs their water. Solid built in counter-top for preparing food, and plenty of storage areas. Imagine being able to just hop in and move to another camping location without the hassle of breaking down an entire campsite. The pups loved it too! The entire experience sold us on how great ‘van life’ can be!

Great trip to Beaver Bend State Park. Becca was thorough and helpful in every aspect. The front seats are super comfy for long drives. Plenty of drink holder space. Lots of pockets to hold items in the front seat area. Bed was comfortable, comforter provided was plenty warm. Temp was 37 at night. Nice to just unload and return van, cleaning is included in the price. :) Would definitely rent this van again

This was our first experience in a sprinter van and we really loved it! We have contemplated getting one as we are empty nesters and looking to travel more of the US. We stayed at a place in Eureka Springs called Kettle campground and their facilities combined with this van was perfect for us! We were also looking for something small enough we could park and visit local shops, parks restaurants etc. we had a blast! And Becca and Wil were ready to help with any questions or issues we had. Such a great first experience! We look forward to our next one!

Took it for a trail running weekend. Perfect set up in a primitive area. Bed was comfy, ride was smooth. We will rent again!!

The Stokes family was awesome very thorough with the break down of the van and how everything works! Super responsive with all questions we had during our rental! Definitely would use them again for any long trip we have as a family.

We loved the camper van Raquel! She was outfitted with everything we could possibly need for a short camping trip into Pisgah Forest. My husband slept so well on the comfy bed - and that is a rarity! We look forward to renting again soon! Amy & Chase

We had an absolutely incredible experience with this outdoor van rental! From the moment we picked it up, everything was smooth, clean, and ready to go. The van was well-equipped with everything we needed—comfy bed, cooking essentials, storage space, and even some thoughtful extras like hammocks and camp chairs that made our nights around the fire extra cozy.

The host was very responsive to all questions. The van was not clean and smelled like cigarette smoke. The pillows were poor,quality. The beds were somewhat comfortable and for older people could be difficult to navigate.

Cheryl, I'm absolutely blown away and disappointed at your 3 star review and inconsistent communication. First off, there's no way the van smelled like cigarettes. We don't allow smoking in the van. I'm a lung cancer survivor and my wife's an asthmatic. We are both extremely sensitive to smoke and would have noticed. I can assure you it did not smell like cigarette smoke when we gave it to Gary. I can only assume that the smoke smell came from you all because we found weed in the cupholder which was not there when we gave the van to Gary either. I'd like to point out that you did not pick up the van, rather you sent Gary and perhaps we aren't the ones to blame for the smoke smell. Secondly, there are limitations to camper vans that can't be helped. Some of that includes bed placement. I called you twice to discuss and confirm how you wanted the beds arranged. I also texted you and sent a message through the platform. You didn't respond to any of that so I went with what you listed on the check out questions. The upper bunk has to be high enough to give room for the person on the lower bunk. Age and physical limitations don't deserve a low star rating. If you had returned my calls and messages, I could have explained that to you and perhaps done a different set up that would have worked better for you all. The van was 100% clean. I spent 3 hours with my wife, setting it up, cleaning it out, washing the sheets, and the exterior and we have the pre-departure photos to prove that so I'm just as confused about why you said it was dirty in your review as I am you saying it smelled like smoke. It did however come back with mustard smeared on the interior of the refrigerator and a bunch of dirt behind the fridge. We have the rental return photos to show the weed, mustard and excessive dirt. The only complaint in your review that is valid is the plastic wear not being great and that's partly because previous renters have destroyed them. It was our goal to replace them soon. Thanks for that reminder. Everything else about the van was clean and in fine working order for your van trip. I don't know why you want to hurt a small business with a poor review. We would have preferred you communicated these concerns with us personally so that we could address them instead of making false claims publicly that hurt us. Especially when you ended with "overall it was a good experience for this short 3 day trip."

The van was exactly as advertised. Robby was extremely responsive and upbeat. He took all the time we needed to walk through operating the van and accessories. Everything worked perfectly, was clean and well organized. The van was easy to drive, not much different from a minivan. And it was really great to have a heater a couple nights!
