5The van was everything I had hoped for! A great vehicle to be mobile on my trip to the Tetons, and had everything I needed to make the trip awesome! Corey and Bianca were amazing hosts, and went above and beyond to ensure I had an amazing trip.

5We loved how easy Ramona was to drive. It was even pretty quiet on the road. The diesel heater worked great and came in handy on those chilly mornings. The van was well stocked with useful things for cooking. We also took advantage of renting the bear spray (but did not need to use it thank goodness). The electrical outlets worked well for charging phones and accessories. Owners were very quick to respond to our questions and gave us a nice walk through at pick-up. The van was very clean. A few things to note…. The van is on the small side. I’m 5’2” and could stand up inside. My husband had to stoop. We bumped our heads more than once on low hanging rods and beams. We only used the electric hot plate once and had to turn the van on immediately because the hot plate drained the battery as soon as turned on. We brought our backpacking stove with us (after reading previous reviews about the hot plate) and cooked simple meals with that. The water pump would also drain the battery if left on (which it turns out was easy to do.) The mattress was pretty thin and as a result was hard on the hips if your a side sleeper. And since the van is smallish the bed is on the short side. Hubby had to sleep at an angle. A minor note- the wiper blades were pretty old and did not clean the windshield. There were two roof marker lights out on the driver side. We drove to Glacier National Park and over to Teddy Rosevelt National Park and several State Parks in between. We loved that the van was short enough to go on the Going to the Sun Road (a 21 ft limit). The van does guzzle gas so make sure to keep an eye on distances to gas stations. This is our fifth time renting a van through Outdoorsy and we find the simple vans are the best. Ramona met our needs and allowed for some great adventures.

5This was my first time doing a trip in a camper van, and it was super easy and convenient. The pickup was simple and I loved that we had the option to get it delivered to the airport. The van is really easy to drive, just uses a ton of gas obviously, so make sure your keeping an eye on the gas gage if you’re driving through rural areas. The van isn’t super tall, I’m 5’6” and I could almost stand up, but had to slouch. The length of the bed also was on the shorter side (I couldn’t stretch my legs out all the way) so keep that in mind if you’re taller. Definitely utilize the bear spray rental!! Bear spray was 4x the price at some stores we saw. I do not recommend the fishing package rental. It was not well equipped for the fish in Montana and Wyoming. The lures and hooks were way too large so it was a waste of our money unfortunately. Plus many fishing spots are exclusive to fly-fishing. It was great having outlets and there were charging ports right above the bed, so we can charge our phones at night. The fans were also great for keeping the van nice and cool. We had some issue trying to use the hot plate occasionally, it would drain the battery before we could cook anything, most of the time we had to turn the van on so we could cook. We didn’t get campsites with electric because I thought the solar would be enough energy, but if possible, I would try to get a site with electric so you don’t run into the same issue as us. I think it would be great if the owners added a small propane camp stove, that way you could cook outside, or have a back up if the hot plate is not working. Overall I would definitely rent it again. I think it’s worth the money and we were able to do a lot of travel very comfortably.
