For something closer to Austin, at about an hour and a half drive, you could go see Colorado Bend State Park and camp right next to the Colorado river!Otros detalles importantesNO Extreme Overlanding! Off-roading is only allowed to get to a campsite and must stay under 10mph.

My wife and I bought Sadie this past year and it has been one of the craziest things we've done! Although it has a steep learning curve, it has offered some very fulfilling times as well. One of our favorite trips was to Lake Whitney State Park about 2 hours North of Austin! We parked the van right by the beach and soaked in the sun bouncing off the water. We both enjoy reading, hiking, biking, (obviously camping), and just sitting around the fire enjoying a s'more. It can be such a healing experience getting away from the noisy city into the peaceful outdoors. Our van has offered us a step up from tent-camping, which I've done my whole life, and offers a level of mobility I have never experienced. I truly believe you owe it to yourself to experience van life at least once in a lifetime!
