19 ft. long

This rig was conceived with utility, efficiency and adaptability in mind. My spouse and I acquired it in 2014 from a couple who'd designed 2 previous rigs and learned some key lessons. Here's what I love about the custom design:
Regular length (19.5 ft, 6.5m) - standard parking spaces and easier to maneuver.
Hose w/ spray faucet at the back gate.
Rear 2-3 feet of the vehicle wide open from floor to ceiling...thus making the vehicle ready for any gear / luggage.
Industrial floor for grip and resisting liquids.
The rig has solar and a huge aluminum roof rack. The solar keeps food/drinks cold in the fridge and the lights on at a minimum. We found the power system enabled us to sustain a traveling office for two. The cabinetry is no-frills but all drawers and doors are fashioned with marine-locking handles and felted shelves under the sink for non-slip, low road-noise.Both front seats rotate (it does take a little practice) for social times in Sparqle. The driver's seat combines with the fold-out couch to give leg-stretching territory for when you utilize the main cabin bed (roughly twin size). It works well with sleeping bags and there are two on board for you... there's also sheets, blankets, pillows and cushions for my favorite feature, the "penthouse" bed.The pop-up roof and penthouse bed is by far my favorite feature. Yes, of course it's a magical sleeping loft when it rises just as the scents of dusk waft in and you listen to pond frogs chirping you to sleep, but even more crucial is just popping the top to make headroom for cooking dinner at the countertop, organizing bags, making bed, getting coffee whipped up, self-grooming at the sink, and so on. When the top's up and a few windows / doors are open, light and fresh air rush in. Making lunch, listening to music parkside, then stepping out under the roll-out RV canopy? It's heavenly.

Te presentamos a tu anfitrión, Zak

Miembro desde 2017

My name is Zak. My spouse Hannah and I traded our overpriced studio in San Francisco for a car payment on this Sportsmobile-converted sprinter 5 yrs ago. One of our best decisions ever. Our van's nickname is Sparkle and she has vanity plates reading "SPARQLE". I'm a career outdoor educator and current entrepreneur working in video/photo, digital marketing and trails advocacy. Hannah works in non-profit as well, serving as director of a foundation focused on linking human wellness to ecosystem health and vice versa. When we set out in Jan 2014, we established a goal to try to summit the highest point in all 50 states. We have completed all except Alask's Denali after a close call in June 2017. We're all about the human-nature connection, hiking, biking, backpacking, mountaineering and travel, hence the rig and the lifestyle.
