My name is Brian, I live in Santa Barbara. I like to spearfish, climb (trad and sport), scuba dive, backpack in Alaska and other wild lands, cook, and I'm a horrible but happy surfer:)
I've been volunteering for our local search and rescue team for about 10 years, though I helped start a Virtual Reality company called WorldViz many years ago (2004). Except for a brief effort helping Canon USA ramp up a mixed reality department during 2016 out in NY, I've been with WorldViz since my last year of college. My neuropharmacology degree has been collecting dust.
I grew up in a machine shop (my father's, [URL removed]), and have loved to build things ever since I could carry building supplies:)
