Discovery, wonder, adventure. Words that apply to RV adventure…and hot air ballooning. The 2017 Havasu Balloon Festival and Fair is located in an area of Arizona that is not only friendly to RVs but goes out of their way to accommodate them. Some of these RV parks are within easy sight of many ascension points, and many others border the Colorado River where you are within minutes of both festival-related activities and scenic outdoor settings.

The Sight of Ascension

This is the 7th Annual Havasu Balloon Festival and Fair, and it takes place on January 13 to 15, 2017. Various locations throughout Lake Havasu City are hosting both ascensions and other events. Guests can take a balloon ride or view takeoffs from the airport, several beaches along the Colorado River, London Bridge, the Island, and other scenic locations that are also part of Lake Havasu State Park. There are four RV parks on the Island itself, and all of them are only minutes away from festival sites, however, all of them are dry sites without hookups, and will only one will give you a view of actual balloon launches.

Swimming, fishing, and wildlife viewing are just a few examples. All of the RV campsites in the park have electrical hookups, and guests can access showers, a dump station, picnic areas, and a boat ramp. There are both beachfront and shaded sites available, and most of the RV sites are big enough to accommodate a tent along with your rig. The park itself stretches south along the eastern bank of the Colorado River, borders on Lake Havasu City, and includes parts of the Island.

Resorts and Retreats

Luxury resorts and upscale retreats are part of the RV lifestyle locally, and it shows in the number of options available in and around Lake Havasu. Located to the north of the city, the Campbell Cove RV Resort features WiFi, deluxe sites with full-hookups, clubhouses, and restaurants. Many of them right on the lakeside or on the banks of the Colorado River. Guests can launch and dock their boats at the private marina and beach areas in each park. Other resorts with many of the same amenities, only a few minutes drive from all the convenient services and festival sites, include the Lake Havasu Springs Resort and Sam’s Beachcomber RV Resort.

A great vacation idea for anyone who craves the adventure and joy of RV living, this the surrounding community is an ideal spot for those with a trailer in tow or at the helm of a mobile home, and this breathtaking event also reflects the values of the RV lifestyle. Choose a friendly campground close to the action, or a quieter retreat by the wooded river and placid lake, and watch the balloons go up.
