Central Region: Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Michigan

The Midwest is a majorly underrated RVing destination that’s also one of the most affordable and interesting places to roll in a rig. Whether you shoot for the Great Lakes, Texas Hill Country, or anywhere in between, you’re bound to find adventure in the central United States.

These are our favorite RV rentals in this zone:

  1. Amelia Bedelia Winnebago Campervan (Tennessee) — Renters love this rig because it’s easy to drive, spacious, and fuel-efficient. Folks also have high praise for the customer service offered by Amelia’s owner. This campervan is the perfect fit for a family vacay, long road trip, or anything in between.

  1. 2014 Thor Motor Coach Chateau Citation (New Mexico) — This Mercedes Class C is spacious yet drives like a car. It’s a diesel, so it gets relatively awesome gas mileage for a rig of its size (15 MPG).

One of the best features of this RV is that it measures just 25 feet in length. That means it’ll fit in the tight campsites at national parks like Great Sand Dunes, White Sands, and Mesa Verde.

Ontario, Canada

This Canadian province is one of our top regions for people renting RVs. That’s probably because renting here opens the door to some of the world’s best natural and urban oases.

  1. Comfortable Camping Catered to You — This 32-foot travel trailer is one of the most amenity and space-packed rigs you can find. You’ll need a full-size truck or SUV if you plan to pull it. West Coast: California, Arizona, Oregon, Washington

The West Coast and the Pacific Northwest (PNW) pack some seriously awesome natural wonders into one region. That’s probably why many of our most popular rigs in the whole country are housed here. Here are the favs:

  1. 2018 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter – The Sand Shark – Adventure Wagon (California) — This campervan rental is based in San Diego, giving you easy access to some of the best beaches, skiing, and adventuring that California has to offer.

This is a true adventure van in the sense that it provides space for gear and sleeping only. But that seems to be a perfect fit for the 80+ renters who’ve rewarded this rig with 5-star reviews.

  1. The 2018 PNW Weekender – a Coast Vans Experience — Campervans like this one are awesome because they provide a warm, cozy, and dry place to sleep, all while still fitting into a normal parking spot.

  1. 2018 Jayco Jay Feather (Arizona) — This is a hybrid trailer meaning it combines some of the best features of a travel trailer with the ease of a pop-up. The front and back offer soft shell pop-outs allowing you to immerse yourself in outdoor breezes from inside the rig.

Renters found this camper to be the perfect size for a family of four and visited nearby spots like Flagstaff, Tahoe, and Pinetop — to name a few.

  1. Arcadia – Arizona Camper Van — This campervan is one of the raddest we’ve ever seen. It even features an indoor shower, kitchen area, and an uber comfy + spacious bed. All of these things can be hard to come by in campervans, but Arcadia packs it all in one super fun package.

Renters praised how easy it was to drive and how many spots they could reach from its Phoenix base.

Josh and his wife traveled around the country in an '88 Airstream for 4+ years of full-time RVing. They made an unexpected pitstop in Montana in 2020 and haven't left since. That's because they got hooked on the glamping resort they run by Glacier National Park. Fittingly, they keep up their RVing love by renting out vintage Airstreams and other retro RVs to travelers hitting Montana.
