Owner of the Week: Mark Langford

Mark Langford is a general contractor who spends most of his days making home renovations. That said, he does leave a bit of time for himself, and often enjoys filling that time with building projects. In the past, Mark has even gone so far as to build boats.

His most recent projects? Tiny teardrop campers.

“I was inspired to build my trailer after I saw one on the internet,” Mark tells us. “I built my first one without any plans whatsoever, and have since built five more. My favorite features of my builds are the maple [wood] walls inside and out.”

Of course, something this awesome needs to be shared. That’s why Mark decided to list his beautiful little trailer on Outdoorsy. “I didn’t know about Outdoorsy right away, but when I saw an Outdoorsy ad, I decided to list my trailer, so I could show and share my creation,” he says. “I feel safe renting with Outdoorsy, as they have agreed to insure my camper. I also like the fact I can have rules like, ‘Please do not climb on the roof.’

One of the reasons Mark is so keen to share his creation is to encourage others to take on building projects of their own. “My hope is that if someone is thinking about building one, they can camp in ours to see if the build effort will be worth it to them,” he explains. “I believe the building process is not hard at all, and honestly think anyone can do it. If you want one, just get started.”

Mark even created a camper build video to help inspire and instruct those who wish to build a teardrop of their own. While he hopes many campers will choose to rent his RV, he also hopes his build and his video help motivate others to create home-built rigs of their own.

All About Mark

If you could travel anywhere in an RV, where would you go? “To the rainforest off-grid.”
