Hi! My name is Jean-Luc, as the son of two flight attendants I've always had a passion for travel and adventure. Growing up right next to the rocky mountains has made the perfect playground for all the activities I've fallen in love with. After living in my van for a few months and surfing everyday I figured I could make a little business out of renting these awesome adventure vehicles out. Now I hope for you to enjoy my vans and make amazing memories just as I have.

JeanLuc is awesome host and very personable. He’s quick to respond and always happy to help. Betty is comfortable and quiet and has all the amenities! Easy to drive and park.

We spent 6 nights as a family of four on the road with Connie the Camper Van. We had a fantastic time. She's a vintage gem. Jean-Luc was great to communicate with, very flexible, and enjoyable to deal with. He showed us everything we'd need to know with camper van living. We found the beds to be very comfortable, although the single beds were narrow (but fine for our kids). Although she's 30+ years old, she's very well maintained and has surprisingly low clicks. Jean-Luc is very proactive with her maintenance and gets a tune-up every 90 days. He gave us advice on how she drives, so he's clearly taken the time to get to know his fleet. We found a camper van was the way to go with exploring the Rocky Mountains, and was especially the most affordable option. Couldn't have more good things to say about our experience.

We recently hired “Betty” for a quick trip to Lake Louise and the whole experience was fantastic. The rental process was incredibly easy from start to finish, and the airport pickup and drop‑off made everything completely stress‑free. Betty was clean, comfortable, and perfect for the drive. Overall, I highly recommend Character Campers, the convenience and service were far better than what we’ve experienced with other rental providers.

The campervan was exactly as described. It ran great and everything functioned well. We truly enjoyed our trip and Betty was perfect for us. The communication before, during and after was great too and we’d love to rent from JeanLuc again someday.

We took Harrison the Ford for a 3-week roadtrip in Alberta en BC, with 3 people. Made some serious km's (>5000); no problem for the Ford. Because it's a van, it's easy to pick up your stuff and move to another place.
Although the van isn't huge, it was cosy and everything you need is provided.

Our host, Jean-Luc, was very helpful in answering all of our questions and providing great local information to help plan our trip. "Betty" the RV was ready for the adventure and Jean-Luc took the time to show us the features of the RV and make sure we were comfortable with them before we departed. He made himself available to contact while we were on our trip if needed. We really enjoyed our experience! We would rent from him again. Thank you!

Our trip with Betty has been amazing. This was the first time we rented an RV and it has been an unforgettable experience. RV had all the amenities needed. We travelled with a baby and the host made sure we were comfortable. He answered all our questions before we left and was very approachable on calls too.

We rented Connie, a vintage van conversion, to camp for a few days in Kananaskis country.
She was clean and well-cared for and stocked with camping essentials.
We found Connie challenging to drive in the mountains, but we are prairie folk used to driving our small cars on flat, straight roads...
We ran into a few problems with plumbing and electrical systems, which we managed on site. Jean-Luc was prompt in resolving the situation to our satisfaction.

Excellent service and Betty surpassed expectations. Jean Luc was very helpful, even letting us have the manual a day early (highly recommend reading this, especially tips on saving power ). So nice to arrive and not spend 45 minutes setting up a tent, especially in the rain. The onboard generator is very convenient, though noisier than just starting the van motor especially in campgrounds where generator hours are restricted. Loved the auto extending canopy! The van itself was easy to drive and all the systems were easy to use, even dumping the tanks. Do suggest bringing an outdoor ground mat for the bottom of the step, and downloading the CarPlay app ahead of time for the drive. Final tip: to recline the seat, there is a third seat adjuster wheel on the side of the seat which you can only see when the door is open. Thanks for a great trip, Betty, you’re a queen among c as more vans!

It’s an old school RV really well maintained, with all you need for some days in the beautiful nature of Canada!
Also Jean Luc was really sweet and helpful all the time! The only thing I wanted to know before is that The RV contains both a functional video tape and audio tape!!! I wish I had recorded my favorite songs to listen on my way, as old times haha.

y first time van camping was a total success due to Character Campers! We had the pleasure of taking Harrison on his inaugural trip to Jasper and Banff! The dropoff and pickup was seamless; Jean-luc was great to work with (provided us with the bedding we needed, some basic cleaning supplies, and had good communication). The layout of the van utilized every square inch in the most efficient way possible; my group of 4 fit quite comfortably in the van for our 5-day trip. Will happily rent from Character Campers again the next time I’m in Canada!

Zeph was in tip top shaped when I went to pick it up! Jean-luc was very quick to answer any queries and provide helpful advice. A great way to explore around, highly reccomend.
